Republican Valley Produce:  RVP Online Farmers Market is NOW OPEN!

I am trying to get back in the swing of things, but still struggling to remember that I backed up the market opening one day. Reminder, orders need to be in by Saturday at 10pm. If you are in Manhattan and placing a preorder for pick up at the winter market in Pottorf Hall at CICO park, please have your order placed by 5 pm on Friday please.

We have taken a hit on some produce, but I hope we have enough planted to carry us through. We aren’t suppose to have single digit cold in November!

I hope we can get some milder weather in for the next few weeks, we need it.

Thanks!

Jay, Linda and the Kids

South Cumberland Farmer's Market:  Your E-Mails to Us at the CFM

Please do not EVER do a Reply to an e-mail like this… or any other e-mail that says somewhere in the address that it is coming from cumberlandfm “via mailgun.us”. That is our third party e-mail redirection service. We cannot identify you from the e-mail unless you sign it in your Reply, and many have e-mailed recently who have not signed their e-mails. It is very difficult for us to track you down so we can answer your questions! Sometimes we have to work on it for a couple of days to determine who has sent us the e-mail. So if you have recently sent us an e-mail and have not received an answer, please e-mail us again in a new e-mail to cumberlandfm@gmail.com .

Thanks,

Coffee If your looking for the blend we have for sampling at the market, it’s called the Holiday Blend. Java Genesis Coffee Roasters Holiday Blend is a Colombian based blend with a bit of our Mexican and Ethiopian coffees that has rich, warm undertones. It’s a well balanced, awesome cup of coffee.

Green Pasture orders are available for pick up this Saturday. We also have some extra on the shelf.

In the News Check me out in the recent Going Green issue of the Forysth Herald. Quick recap…I helped organize Coal Mountain Elementary Schools first Meet the Farmer day. Lynn Pugh of Cane Creek Farm brought in Sweet Potatoes from her garden and the kitchen staff made sweet potato fries for the kids. South Cumberland Food Hub:  Thanksgiving

Good Morning from the South Cumberland Food Hub. My favorite holiday is almost here! I like to remember that our early ancestors set aside this day to show their thanks for the simple things in life- food, shelter, friendship and freedom. During this holiday think about the things you are thankful for and focus on how Blessed we are to have the simple things. Many people around the world don’t have any of the things I mentioned above. Despite certain things, it is still good to be an American.

We will be closed for the holiday and will re open the week of Dec.1st. I hope everyone has a super Thanksgiving and gets to enjoy it with your loved ones.

Local food is big business and more and more restaurants, stores and schools are getting involved. We are in the middle of a movement that is changing the way America eats and it is very exciting. Here’s a great article to show what is happening in our area, as well as all over the United States.
